Level Three
Gustav, still a level three hurricane is now a little less than 100 miles off shore, South of New Orleans. Even though the eye has not yet made landfall, some tornadoes have already been spotted South of New Orleans and hurricane force winds are reported at 90 mph and gusts of 115 mph. At 6 a.m. the National Hurricane Center posted an update: Maximum sustained winds are 115 mph and sustained winds off shore are 73 mph.
